She taught Film Sound at the NZ Film Academy, the Sound Design module on the Media Design Schools Interactive Gaming Diploma, Digital Audio Production at Auckland University of Technology and currently lectures in Melbourne, Australia.

Kahra holds a Diploma in Audio Engineering (NZ), a Cert/Adv in Film & Television Production (AUS) and a Certificate in Journalism (NZ) plus has considerable experience in visual media production.
